Thoughts on James 1 this morning:
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” (v. 2-4)
Trials produce steadfastness. Steadfastness’ full effects in us are perfection and completion.
“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him” (v. 12)
We must remain steadfast under trial in order to receive the blessing. The blessing is the crown of life, which we have already been promised to receive.
Amazing faithful God! The trial produces in us the very thing we need in order to endure it! Rejoice!!! God is faithful! And his promises to us rest entirely on His own faithfulness and not our effort! Praise the Lord!
I believe this is why we can count it all joy. Thank you, Jesus.
