When I was a little girl, all my teachers used to tell my mother I should be a politician or a used car salesman. When I was in high school, I had big dreams of Broadway and so many people affirmed me and came alongside me in my theatrical dreams. Obviously, I’m not any of those things. But here’s my attempt to sell my photographically inclined friends on my new favorite camera accessory.
I recently invested in a lightscoop and I’m very glad I did.
The good: It eliminates everything I hate about indoor pop-up flash photography. Namely, the ultra-white, washed out look of the skin and the shadows behind the subject. And I don’t have to spend $200 on a Speedlite. Wooot!
The bad: It only works properly if you’re shooting horizontally.
The ugly: Yeah, it is kinda ugly. But the pictures look GREAT!
The iPad we bought for Johanna for her birthday came in the mail today. Perfect opportunity to show you what I mean.
They’re $34.95 on Professor Kobre’s website, but I got mine for $25 on Amazon. And the cheapest shipping option came within three days from the east coast. I don’t think it’s possible for me to be happier about it.
