DIY Luggage Tags

Luggage tags are an expensive and stupid necessity. Especially if you want them to stand out enough that no one will pick up your bag by accident. If you’re like me, you also want them to be pretty and to match your luggage.

Et voila! Une solution!

It only cost me about $10 at the craft store and I had enough to make four of these. The card stock can be easily found in a vast array of colors in the scrapbooking section. You can create as many or as few layers to the tags as you like, I did the damask back to back, then lined my address with black card stock purely for visual purposes, but it wound up making it quite sturdy and durable. For the record, the self-laminating sheets are surprisingly expensive, but the card stock and ribbon only cost about 50-75 cents each.

  1. Cute Katie! Sorry the lamenating was so expensive. I bet clear contact paper would have nearly done the trick. If in Mpls, you can go to Paper Depot to get something laminated – I think it’s a couple bucks a full page. If in Nairobi, most copy places do laminating fairly cheap too.

    1. I thought about that too! …after I had already bought the self laminating sheets. But then I would have had to go out again after I’d put it all together. In hindsight, if I do it again, I’ll probably do it that way… and also include my phone number on there as well!
