Off the Grid, Still on the Camera

If you’re thinking that my awful communication skills have taken a turn for the worse in the last week, it’s because they have. I had a stay-cation of sorts with my week off work, staying with the Jones family while Molly’s parents were in town, and I basically went off the grid for it. I spent the weekend (sans camera) at the Bethlehem Women’s Conference with Elyse Fitzpatrick– which was amazing. I think the thing I was most blessed by throughout my time there was her utter refusal to perform and play the plastic Stepford Christian game, but resolve instead to be honest with herself, the Lord, and others about her sin, run to the cross, and embrace the Gospel on a daily basis. It seems so simple, doesn’t it? Kind of a no-brainer, really. And I felt like it was just the Lord confirming everything about where I am right now. How precious to be reminded that my sin, ALL OF IT has been paid for in Christ– even sins I have yet to commit, and that because of that, He never looks at me in wrath or even mild indignation. Instead He calls me holy and beloved daughter, precious in His sight. And I am so thankful.

Here’s a few new 365 updates for you from the last week or so, with a note or two on each.

4.28.11 – 7:17pm
Body: Canon Rebel XS
Lens: Canon 85mm prime
Notes: One of the installations in the “Art in Bloom” exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Art

035/365

Body: Canon Rebel XS
Lens: Canon 85mm prime
Notes: It’s officially spring in Minnesota. Flowers are blooming outdoors. Please, Jesus– no more snow. Please?

036/365

Body: Canon Rebel XS
Lens: Canon 85mm prime
Notes: Annie Rose (aka Bindi the Jungle Girl) is potty training, which basically means she walks around with no pants on all day. Or like this. She’s also just learned to dress herself– as you can see by the Roma-style clashing patterns. At least Matt helped her with her “sag”– if Hood Mart were still around, she’d show those gangsters how it’s done.

These last two are pretty much purely for Molly and Abraham’s entertainment.

Notes: This was purely inspired by Whit’s outfit today. And also by our favorite late night Netflixing material.

038/365

Notes: Talking to Daddy on the phone.

Can you tell I’m really into Picnik and b/w’s right now?

  1. and can i ask what is your “favorite late night Netflixing material.” ?
somedays i just can’t stand how cute my twin niece and nephew are.

    1. A show called Friday Night Lights– I’ve caught a few episodes here and there and Molly and Abraham have filled me in on the rest. Apparently it was a suggestion from one of your other brothers, not sure which one.
