The Evolution of Baby Kicks and Week 22

I know, I know. Major blog slacker. I’m sure I’ll regret it later, but to be honest, I just hate taking pictures of myself and posting them on the internet, even if it is for a good cause. Call me crazy.

Also! I finished the baby blanket!! For some reason it looked a whole lot longer when it was still on the needles – initially I was thinking it was going to be a horizontal stripe pattern, but it’s looking more vertical now that I’ve finished it. It also desperately needs to be blocked (to fix the wavy edges) but am I really going to block this thing my kid is probably going to puke all over and use as a kleenex? Hmmmm…

Week: 22

Baby is the size of: a papaya.

Loves: feeling the baby move. For some reason, the baby is now into gently drumming on my belly like a djembe and not so much the super ninja kicks and extreme yoga poses that make me jump and squirm to try to get him/her to move.

Hates: THE CAT. Seriously. She is downright psychotic and unbelievably destructive. Really not sure what’s gotten into her. I also hate hormones and weird tingly leg cramps. And eating. I still hate that I have to eat all the time.

How I’m Feeling: Better. Despite the back pain that keeps me awake at night and the hormone-supercharged crazy emotional roller-coaster I’ve been riding, I’d still say better. It’s fun to go shopping for cute baby clothes, especially at garage sales and thrift stores. And no, we’re still not telling. It’s a secret. :)
